Giving FAQs

Why should I give?

We give because God gave first. Scripture says giving is to be viewed as a spiritual act of worship and that it is to be the joy and responsibility of every believer. Giving money to the Lord is not something that we are supposed to view as a burdensome obligation, but rather quite the contrary. This is a radical and counter-cultural point of view. Because while the rest of the world worships money as god, we are to worship God with our money.

How should I give then?

The Bible teaches that God has called every believer to give regularly, generously, cheerfully, and in proportion to what they have been given. This sacrificial kind of giving makes sense in light of the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross. As we invest in God’s work, we are laying up treasures in heaven and participate in what the Lord is doing on the earth now (2 Corinthians 9:7, Matthew 6:20, Proverbs 3:9).

What happens to the money I give?

God provides for the ministry of Vive City Chapel through your tithes and offerings. We honor your gifts with faithful stewardship, ethical business practices, and full accountability so that the financial integrity of Vive City Chapel remains beyond reproach.

What are tithes and offerings?

Tithing is our foundation. The Bible teaches us a baseline standard for giving: the tithe. When we give the first 10% of our income to the church, we put God first in our lives (Deuteronomy 14:23). Tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything we have. It is also God’s personal invitation to an outpouring of His blessing in our lives. Tithing is an act of worship that expresses our gratitude, faith, and love for others. Offerings, on the other hand, are in addition to our tithes, so it’s the “extra” that we give generously.

Do I get receipts of my giving?

At the end of every year, detailed financial statements, listing contributions made to to the church that year, are distributed. When you give online, you will also receive a receipt or notification immediately. If you don’t attend Vive City Chapel in person, but you listen to messages online and feel called to give above and beyond what you give to your local church, we appreciate your partnering together with us!

Who holds the church financially accountable?

Vive City Chapel is held accountable by our governance with internal checks and balances. We conduct regular financial audits. You can trust that your financial contributions are stewarded well.
