Salvation - Day 6

Sharing God With Others

Acts 1:8 NIV
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The keyword there is “witnesses.” What is a witness? A witness is someone who tells of what they’ve seen and heard. A witness doesn’t make things up. Witnesses give their own personal experience. If you saw a car accident and the police asked you to be a witness, what would you say? You wouldn’t make things up. You would simply tell them what you saw and heard. That’s the same thing we’re called to do as Christians. Tell people what Jesus has done in your life. People can try to argue with scriptures, but they can’t argue with your experience.

There are many misconceptions about being qualified to share Jesus with others. Here are a few of these false misconceptions:

FalseTrue
It is the pastor’s/minister’s job to share God with others. It is the job of every disciple to share God with others.
You have to know the Bible and be able to quote it.You have to know Jesus and share your story.
Your life has to be free from struggles, mistakes, or sin. In other words, you have to be perfect. You have to be sincere, authentic, and honest about the struggles God is helping you through.
I don’t have to talk to others about God; I will just live a good life.We have to use words to introduce others to Jesus. If you don’t tell them, how will they know that He is the One who changed your life?
If people don’t respond, then it is useless. We share our story and we leave the results to God.
